One afternoon, Ted makes his way to the hotel where Nunally and Jennifer are and switches his gun with Nunally’s. Ted kills uses Nunally’s gun to shoot his wife, reloads the weapon, and when Nunally shows up, Ted switches the guns once again. Nunally is in shock and walks away with his gun, the murder weapon.

The bodies Ray takes from the hospital are actually of the boys from the car accident (one is still alive). Peri and Jo’s bodies are in the trunk; they died at the beginning of the movie. Here’s what really happened in the first scene: Peri fell into the pit, hit her head upon impact, and immediately died.
Did Ray throw a rock at Peri in fractured?
While Ray is distracted, Peri starts to wander towards a deserted construction site because of a balloon stuck on a rebar. She is menaced by a stray dog and starts backing towards an exposed pit. Ray throws a rock to scare the dog, but it causes Peri to fall into the hole.
